Day 49: Crucia’s Fingers

September 14, 2009

A half-day’s walk north of Husk, at the edge of the Surround, lies Crucia’s Fingers.  Though this patch marks the border between the Surround, Scrublands, and rocky badlands, the area immediately around the Fingers is a shallow sandy basin.  The Fingers themselves are a rock formation that bears striking resemblance to the fingers of a skeletal hand, dug slightly into the sands which flow about and over the formation. Dust devils often kick up in this place, which was named after the wizardess, Crucia.
