Wasters and Tiefers

Update 05-Aug-2009: Clarified multiclassing options for Wasters and Tiefers

There are two player character races: Wasters and Tiefers.  These two peoples settled Husk at around the same time, and grew to depend on each others’ strengths.  Whereas Wasters exhibit great skill in employing material objects to solve the problems, Tiefers employ arcane means to accomplish the same ends.  The result is a symbiotic relationship that has endured for a few hundred years – that is, longer than anyone can remember.

Wasters:

Wasters are named for the Waste, where their tribes run strong through the winds.  Wasters settled in Husk with the Tiefers at least a few centuries ago, but some very wild Wasters still wander the badlands.  The Wasters of Husk have good relations with some of the tribes, but many more are hostile or so territorial as to be impossible to treat with.  When encountering wasters, hope for hospitality, but prepare for savagery.

Wasters from Husk use the rules for Human characters, and their base class must be from the Martial power source.  They may take multiclass feats for either the Martial or Feral power sources.

Note: If you want to really nail the idea of Wasters, try a southern or midwestern American accent.

Tiefers:

Dignified and regal, but marked by some ancient curse, Tiefers came to Husk from far in the south, where they say their old cities fell to folly.  Tiefers appear strange and exotic next to Wasters, but besides their greater interest in civilized pleasures and their refined manner of speaking, there is little divide between the two races within Husk.

Tiefers from Husk use the rules for Tiefling characters, and their base class must be from the Arcane power source.  They may take multiclass feats for either the Arcane or Martial power sources.

Note: If you want to really nail Tiefers, try an aristocratic Anglo-American accent.

The lists of names for Tiefer and Waster characters will be available in antoher post.
